I think majority of us can agree that the most annoying thing in the world is when Netflix cancels show season 1 and it hurts even more if that show is actually to your liking and taste. But an even more contemptuous thing is not even informing why the show got canceled.

So now we have to just live with the fact that the show we just got attached to in its first season is no longer coming back and moreover we have to die finding out why was this sorcery done to us.

Fans can binge-watch a number of excellent one-season TV programs in a single day on Netflix but not hold out hope for a second season because the streaming giant has already terminated it.

Here’s some of the best Netflix shows that were canceled after their first season and why.

Girlboss (2017)

Based on Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography Girlboss shows how Sophia founded her business Nasty gal while serving as a host for campus safety at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Fueled by determination and defiance, she becomes an unlikely entrepreneurial success.

It got canceled as reviews stated the show was bland and un-engaging and very evident from the first episode that it wont be a crowd winner.

The Society (2019)

The Society” follows a group of high school students mysteriously trapped in a replica of their town, with no adults. They must navigate power struggles, form alliances, and uncover the truth to survive.

It was actually a show people got hooked to and probably one of the best Netflix shows that got canceled but its fate that its renewals announcement came in the pre covid times and got postponed due to covid. Has been postponed ever since.

Daybreak (2019)

Loosely inspired by Mad max and based on Brian Ralph’s comic series of the same name, Daybreak centered its action in a post-apocalyptic world where teenagers are the only ones who have survived a bomb that has turned every adult into a zombie.

Even though it was a good show it’s a shame majority of the viewers did not enjoy the show as much and it got canceled.

I am not okay with this (2019)

Adapted from Charles Forsman’s graphic novel, the series revolves around Sydney Novak, a teen grappling with her emerging sexuality while uncovering her newfound superpowers.

The show fell victim to covid-19 era and eventually Netflix cancels show.

Julie and the Phantoms (2020)

Inspired by a Brazilian series, “Julie and the Phantoms” follows the story of Julie, a young teen who loses her love for music after her mother’s passing. When she accidentally conjures up three ghosts from a 90s band, the unlikely group decides to support one another by forming a real band.

Julie and the Phantoms was actually a very popular show on Netflix but it has a
rather sad reason for getting canceled just after its first season. The show had a
talented cast and a fantastic soundtrack, but it attracted the wrong
demographic. The show’s audience skewed older than anticipated, which was
likely not in line with Netflix’s target demographic.

Everything Sucks (2018)

Everything Sucks is often considered one of Netflix’s finest teenage dramedies,
but like Freaks and Geeks, it ended after just one season. Created by Ben York
Jones and Michael Mohan, the series is set in the 1990s and centers around a
group of high school misfits from the A/V and drama clubs who team up to make
a movie.

Even though it was a great series it got canceled due to low engagement which
also resulted in some outrageous viewers who actually liked the series and
wanted it to continue but unfortunately decisions were already made.

Netflix cancels shows often, leaving fans frustrated as beloved series end abruptly. Recently, the streaming giant’s decision to cancel a fan-favorite show has sparked outrage across social media. With no clear explanations, the trend of “Netflix cancels show” continues to raise questions about its content strategy.
