A very interesting release that has our interest is the upcoming film “The wild robot”. Its an animated movie directed by Chris Sanders and produced by the ever known DreamWorks animation. But what is so interesting about this animated movie? The ideology behind the movie and its story gives us an image of how would technology look like in the wild especially if they developed to survive there themselves. And in this movie we see the wild robot protect the wild life.
The trailer seems to have had a rather emotional effect on the viewers and is making even adults want to watch it and cannot wait until it comes out.
Many comments about the movie state that it partially seems like the old movie “Wall-E” which also was based on a robot but that robot was not stuck in the wild but was stuck in a destroyed world abandoned by the humans who had gone to live glued to technology and screens.
The name of the robot in this film is Roz short for Rozzum and believe it or not but the pronouns used for Roz the wild robot is she/her and not it. That’s right, it’s a female robot who is learns to survive in the wilderness all on her own.
I think the story indirectly and very discretely also wants to show that the females always tend to develop that soft corner and adapt to the environment very quickly and never give up trying even if it’s roz the wild robot.
Surprisingly enough, the wild robot movie is an adaptation of a book with the same name written by Peter Brown. Peter Brown has quite an interesting back story about how he got to writing this book as well. It was his childhood book and according to him he was already working on a project called the secret garden when the idea of a robot in the wild came into his head and made him curious about how would a robot survive in the wild. He drew picture from his imagination of robots on trees and then eventually decided to write a fiction book on it that would show how would a robot living in the wild look like.
