That’s right! The wait is finally over! The series that took over the globe and each and every person living in it 3 years ago in 2021 is finally coming back. That’s none other than The Squid game. season 2! We have information regarding squid game season 2 release date that you definitely do not want to miss out on.
Squid game is a Korean series that took over possibly every human around the world in 2021. Anyone who has not watched the squid game has definitely been living under a rock or woke up from a long comma because the kind of hype that this series had was like an event. Squid game had to be the topic of every gathering and not very surprisingly was also on number one on the most watched show on Netflix for several months!
The first season, consisting of nine episodes, premiered on Netflix in 2021 and became a monumental success for the platform. “Squid Game” Season 1 quickly rose to be the most-watched non-English TV series on Netflix, amassing over 2 billion hours of viewing time across its approximately eight-hour duration, with a total of 265 million views. The show also made history at the Emmys, earning 14 nominations, including a groundbreaking nod for best drama series, the first for a non-English production, and winning six awards.
Although even after being the most watched show in the history of Netflix it sure did take a lot of time to get a squid game. season 2. Its producers definitely need a little work there since in these 3 years the hype has of course died down. I think they probably took inspiration from the Duffer brothers aka the makers of Stranger Things and fans would know exactly what I am talking about. Though its no debate that once the squid game. season 2 comes out its still going to have a crazy amount of viewership. Probably not going to top the last one but still ging to be in extreme high numbers.
The Squid Game season 2 release date is December 26th which is extremely smart since that’s the time people are usually done celebrating the festivities and sit down to relax and watch something. Unless of course they have dinners to go to.
The new trailer features Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, back in the game as Player 456. It shows the very scared Seong Gi-hun hearing his door bell and with the horrors of the game still haunting him and his nightmares he opens the door with a gun in his hands to see a masked man dressed in all black just like the front man in the previous game. The scene cuts to him being dressed in the tracksuit again as player 456 inside the game with other players and workers dressed in pink onesies getting out of their rooms. The trailer shows that Seong Gi-hun is still very much set on getting his revenge from the people behind this vicious game but does not know how much its going to cost him because it looks like to put an end to this game he has to re-enter it.
Squid game season 2 casting would of course be a little different than the last one considering many of them died in the first season. So in the squid game season 2 casting Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo reprise their roles from Season 1 with an impeccable list of new cast members including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an rounding out.
