If there’s any country that is excelling in the film or mainly tv show industry, it has to be Turkey. The way Turkish tv shows have just come and taken over our TVs and streaming platforms is quite interesting. It seemed as if Korea was almost taking over that title from Turkey but they just got back in the game with the release of Midnight at the Pera Palace season 2.
Ever since season one of Midnight at the Pera Palace viewers had been eagerly waiting for the show to be renewed and get a Midnight at the Pera Palace season 2 and it did not disappoint.
We can also say this without watching the series because of who plays the role of Esra. Hazal Kaya, who real Turkish drama fans would know as Nehaal from “Ishq e mamnoo” or Fariha from “Fariha”, was unbelievable in this series as well and her work gives it what is required for the series to do exceptionally well.
She portrays a journalist named Esra, who stays at the same hotel where her idol, Agatha Christie, penned her iconic murder mysteries. During her stay, she unexpectedly travels back in time, bringing Christie into the story as a character. A fun fact from the new season: Alfred Hitchcock, another renowned visitor of the Pera Palace, also makes an appearance. Esra embarks on an extraordinary journey through history, discovering that her personal story is intertwined with the rich past of this legendary hotel. It’s a history lesson like no other, full of surprises and famous figures.
Midnight at the Pera Palace is part sci-fi, part historical, and of course very fun as well. There is actually a midnight in the pera palace book which is originally called midnight at the pera palace the birth of modern Istanbul written by Charles King.
