According to the creators and some early reviews the new ipad mini 2024 has many different and interesting features and cannot be called the same as the previous mini ipad.

New iPad Mini 2024 Features

Apple has unveiled the latest iteration of the iPad Mini, now powered by the A17 Pro chip and enhanced with Apple Intelligence, a personal assistant that prioritizes user context and privacy.

The sixth-generation iPad Mini got a significant update in 2021, so it’s no surprise that Apple kept the external design the same in this iteration. This tablet features an iPad Mini new screen measuring 8.3 inches with slim bezels and a 12-megapixel front camera. It also includes a USB-C port that supports impressive 10-Gbps data transfer speeds. The rear camera boasts a 12-megapixel sensor with Smart HDR 4 capabilities and improved document scanning features introduced in the M4-powered iPad Pro earlier this year.

However, the most notable enhancements are found inside. Apple upgraded the processor from the A15 (used in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro) to the A17 Pro, which is also in the iPhone 15 Pro. With its six-core CPU, this new chip is said to offer a 30 percent increase in CPU performance, while the five-core GPU delivers a 25 percent improvement compared to the previous generation. Additionally, the neural engine has doubled its speed.

This new chip allows the iPad Mini to leverage Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI tools debuting in iOS 18.1, making it the most affordable tablet in the lineup to access these features. Other compatible devices include the fifth-generation M1 iPad Air, sixth-generation M2 iPad Air, fifth-generation M1 iPad Pro, sixth-generation M2 iPad Pro, and seventh-generation M4 iPad Pro. Among these new tools are Writing Tools, which help proofread and adjust the tone of your text, and a Clean Up feature in Apple Photos to remove unwanted background objects. Additional features like Image Playground, Genmoji, and Siri’s integration with ChatGPT will be available in the coming months.
