The thrilling game that was awarded the first spot in times magazine in the top 10 video games Alan Wake is now being turned into an Alan Wake TV series. Alan Wake is a thrilling horror game that does sound like it would make an amazing TV series and we are glad we will get to see it happen.
Remedy, the developer of the game Alan Wake and other popular video games has partnered up with Annapurna to develop and produce film, TV and audiovisual projects based on the “Alan Wake” and “Control” franchises and to bring that vision to life.
“At Remedy, our primary focus continues to be what we do best — crafting industry-defining video games that have earned us global recognition. Now, the time is right to expand the reach of Remedy’s beloved franchises to an even broader global audience through film, television, and more. In Annapurna, we have found an outstanding partner who shares our ambition and passion for immersive storytelling. We are excited to see them bring the universes and characters we have created to life in new mediums, thanks to this unique deal.” commented Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy Entertainment, according to Variety.
As part of the pact Annapurna will also be co-producing and co-financing Control 2 that currently has no windows but is being talked about. So we wont just be getting an Alan Wake tv series but we may also get a sequel of another one of our favorite games thanks to Remedy and Annapurna’s parternship.
The game came out in 2010 May and consists of 6 episodes filled with plot twists and cliffhangers. All involving the bestselling crime thriller novelist Alan Wake trying to unveil the mystery behind his wife’s sudden disappearance while them being on a vacation in a town called Bright Falls in Washington. Not only did he have to find his wife but he had to find her while all of the weird horrifying things he had written his recent novel about were coming to life and happening to him.
Following such a description we can’t wait to see how the Alan Wake TV series is going to turn out and if it really is going to be as exciting and adrenaline rushing as it is sounding. Movies like Alan Wake are the kind that keep people up on their toes always ready for something unpredictable to happen at any point of the movie or show.
There has been rumors that the game is not turning into an Alan Wake TV series but an Alan Wake movie instead. The rumors have been a little bleak so we are going with the possibility of it being a tv show more than the Alan Wake movie.
The announcement of the game getting a TV show first came in 2020 and no updates were posted after that so everyone assumed that it has been cancelled but we just got an update by IGN and we are more than just thrilled and impatient to watch it first thing as it comes out.
“This deal with Remedy isn’t just about adapting great games — it’s about breaking new ground in how companies can collaborate. By backing Remedy’s move toward self-publishing, we’re putting our faith in their vision,” said Hector Sanchez, Annapurna’s President of Interactive and New Media. “We know from experience that Remedy is a first-class games development partner, and we’re excited to share their work with an even wider audience by bringing the Control and Alan Wake universes to film, television and beyond.”, according to Geek Culture.
