As a kid we had always heard about different religions. Believing that every living existence comes from somewhere and that it is bound to go back. Then growing up we heard something entirely contradicting, not believing that we belong from somewhere and that there’s no higher power above us that controls everything. Heretic movie covers all that sorts of stupid yet scary ideas. The movie itself however, is beyond amazing.

Heretic movie is a deeply unsettling psychological horror that doesn’t rely on supernatural scares. Instead, it explores the terrifying reality of control, manipulation, and the dark mind of a heretic.

The movie distills millennia of recurring narratives into subtly different belief systems that have profoundly influenced human history. This is all presented through an intensely gripping perspective, resulting in a genre film that satisfies both instinctively and intellectually. It’s crafted to engage your mind and accelerate your heartbeat simultaneously something rare in this genre. Visually stunning and impeccably acted, the film captivates throughout. As is often the case with stories exploring the complexities of faith, it falters slightly in its final act when attempting to resolve its deeper questions. Nonetheless, it remains a sharp, compelling experience and is poised to be another standout success for A24.

Following their guidelines, they initially refuse to enter his home without a woman present. However, Reed assures them that his wife is in the kitchen baking a pie, and the enticing scent of blueberries seems to confirm his claim. Trusting his words, they step inside and begin a theological conversation. But Reed quickly shifts the dynamic, turning their discussion into an interrogation about faith and belief. After all, their conviction in a higher power mirrors their trust that his wife is just beyond the door because they’ve been told so.
