All You Need to Know About IOS 18 Update

That’s right, I don’t think it’s a surprise that ios 18 update will be coming out since
it has always been apple’s tradition before launching a new phone it launches an
ios update which are pretty much useless anyway (or at least I never found any
update very out of this world) but since its apple of course people are still waiting
eagerly to see what witch craft the ios 18 update does to their iphones.
There are also beta versions introduced by apple for people to see what ios 18
update will be like on their phones. If you don’t know what a beta version is, it is
basically a free trial version of a new update that is available for only a limited
time for people to test the new update before it comes out and the developers
can get feedbacks about it to see if any changed are needed before actually
launching it permanently.
Apple launched ios 18 beta developer in 2024 June however, ios public beta 18
was released on July 15 th 2024. But that’s not all. If you’re thinking after releasing
a beta version the job is done, well you’re wrong. There are further versions of
the beta versions. For example, ios public beta 18, then beta 3 which is 18.1.
Things that would be available in 18.1 like the apple intelligence (just another
tactic to catch attention calling artificial intelligence) will not necessarily be
available in beta 18. Confusing yet? Yeah well that’s apple and ios for you.
Although if you want to know ios 18 beta 3 (also ios 18.1) release date, it was
already released in late august. So here’s the answer for when is ios 18 public
beta coming out if you were wondering.
All Apple smartphones from 2018’s iPhone XS or newer can install iOS 18. All
tablets from the 2018 iPad Pro, 2019 iPad Air (3rd gen), iPad mini (5th gen) or
iPad (6th gen) and newer can install iPadOS 18. All Apple Watches from
2020’s Series 6 or newer can install watchOS 11. All MacBook Airs from 2020,
MacBook Pros from 2018, Mac minis from 2018, iMacs from 2019, Mac Studios
from 2022, the 2017 iMac Pro and 2019 Mac Pro or later can install macOS
Sequoia.
The iOS 18 update's new features will include custom home screen layouts, a
redesigned Control Centre, eye tracking, music Haptics, motion cues, upgrades to
Safari and Maps app, a new Photos App, a new Apple health ecosystem, new
iMessage features, and much more. It will now let you react to messages and also
schedule messages to be sent later.
The Messages app also supports the RCS standard in iOS 18. This should facilitate a richer messaging experience when you're communicating with someone who doesn't own an Apple device.
With ios 18 you can now finally shoot videos without having the music in the
background stop or any other activity stop. Probably the only useful thing I found
about the upgrade and I cannot begin to express how annoying that used to feel.
There’s a wallet upgrade feature which lets you pay to other iphone owners by
just a tap on their phone. Hence paying your friends became easier.
Interestingly enough, if you don’t like the ios 18 update you can downgrade ios 18
to 17. How? That’s going to be illegal to let out because it actually is illegal but
people definitely have done it before. However it is sounding unlikely that anyone
would downgrade ios 18 to 17 this time.
